Frequently asked questions
The extension shows "No protection", what should I do?
The local ndaact.ai app is unreachable, your session isn't open, or the model isn't ready yet. For as long as that lasts, the extension blocks sending instead of letting the text leave in clear. Check that the desktop app is running and that you are signed in to it, then try again. If you do want to write without protection, turn it off from the popup: the badge turns grey and sending resumes, in clear and knowingly.
A PDF upload is blocked, why?
As with text, a technical failure blocks the upload rather than letting the original document leave unredacted. Restart the local ndaact.ai application, then try again.
How do I view the detection history?
Click the extension icon in the toolbar, then "Audit": you'll find the detail of detected data types, timestamped, without the original value.
How do I temporarily disable protection?
The toggle button at the top of the extension popup turns protection on/off for the current site.
Report a bug or suggest an improvement
To report an issue with the most useful technical detail possible, write to us at contact@ndaact.ai:
- Specify the extension version, the site involved (claude.ai or chatgpt.com), and the steps to reproduce.
- If possible, attach the error message shown in the browser console (right-click → Inspect → Console tab).
Please don't include personal data in your reports. If you're illustrating a detection bug, use fictional examples (fake name, fake IBAN) rather than your real data.
